Current Contribution Limits

Each tax year (06 April to 05 April of the following year) you can make contributions to your ISA(s) and your child's Junior ISA or Child Trust Fund up to specific 'ISA Allowance' limits - as defined by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC).

Listed below are the current ISA, Junior ISA and Child Trust Fund ISA allowances:

Product Tax Year Allowance
Flexible ISA 2020/21 £20,000
Lifetime ISA 2020/21 £4,000
Junior ISA 2020/21 £9,000
Child Trust Fund

'Subscription Year' (birthday to birthday)

£9,000

You can split your ISA allowance across all your ISAs as long as the current limit is not breached.

This does not apply to Junior ISA or Child Trust Fund investments.

Example for an ISA allowance of £20,000 -  You could save £11,000 in a Stocks and Shares ISA, £4,000 in a Lifetime ISA, £3,000 in a Cash ISA and £2,000 in an Innovative Finance ISA in one tax year.
