No, transferring a Child Trust Fund to Unity Mutual won’t affect this year’s £9,000 contribution limit. Junior ISAs follow the tax year (April to April), and Child Trust Fund transfers don’t count toward the annual allowance – only new contributions made within the same tax year do.
No, only the registered contact can authorise a Child Trust Fund transfer to a Junior ISA. This is typically the child’s parent or legal guardian and the only person legally allowed to manage the account on their behalf.
Transferring a Child Trust Fund to a Junior ISA should be completed within 30 days of us sending a transfer request to your current provider. However, we cannot guarantee the processing time of other organisations. Please allow up to 30 days for this process to complete.
