No, transferring a Child Trust Fund to Unity Mutual won’t affect this year’s £9,000 contribution limit. Junior ISAs follow the tax year (April to April), and Child Trust Fund transfers don’t count toward the annual allowance – only new contributions made within the same tax year do.
No, only the registered contact can authorise a Child Trust Fund transfer. This is typically the child’s parent or legal guardian and the only person legally allowed to manage the account on their behalf.
Child Trust Fund transfers should be completed within 30 days of us sending a transfer request to your current provider. However, we cannot guarantee the processing time of other organisations. Please allow up to 30 days for this process to complete.
