Over the years, several friendly societies have entrusted us to take over their policies and investment funds.
As one of the UK’s oldest and largest friendly societies, we provide their members with a secure and welcoming new home - offering a strong sense of community, proven financial stability, and over 200 years of experience.

Tees Mutual
In February 2025, the transfer of engagements from Tees Mutual marked the sixth acquisition by our Society since 2007.
With a history spanning well over a century, Tees Mutual has long served the communities of Teesside, offering life insurance, savings plans, and income protection.
Deeply rooted in the region’s working-class heritage, their legacy now continues as part of our growing family, strengthening our commitment to serving members both locally and across the UK.

Kingston Unity
In February 2021, Kingston Unity officially became part of Unity Mutual, bringing nearly 100,000 policyholders into our care. Based in Wakefield, Kingston Unity had a strong reputation for providing Child Trust Funds, Tax-Exempt Savings Plans, and protection policies.
Unity Mutual is proud to continue managing these products while offering a broader range of financial solutions to support our members at every stage of life.

Druids Sheffield Friendly Society (DSFS)
In 2015, the Druids Sheffield Friendly Society transferred to us, bringing with it a rich history dating back to its formation in 1858.
Based in Rotherham, Druids specialised in Child Trust Funds, ISAs, and life assurance products. We proudly continue their legacy of providing trusted financial services to their members.

Schoolteachers Friendly Society (SFS)
In 2011, the Schoolteachers Friendly Society (SFS) transferred to us, expanding our range of services to include their trusted insurance products.
Based in Liverpool, Schoolteachers specialised in sickness income plans, child trust funds, as well as savings and investment products tailored specifically for schoolteachers and their families. We continue to uphold their commitment to providing reliable financial support to this valued community.
Nottingham Friendly Society (NFS)
In 2009, the Nottingham Friendly Society transferred to us, bringing with it a long history dating back to its formation in 1812.
Based in Nottingham, Nottingham Friendly offered pensions, endowments, tax-exempt savings plans, and Child Trust Funds.
Both Nottingham Friendly Society and our own society were united by a shared commitment to putting members at the heart of everything we do.

Ideal Benefit Society (Ideal)
In 2007, the Ideal Benefit Society transferred to us, marking the beginning of our journey of welcoming other Friendly Societies.
Based in Birmingham, Ideal had a long-standing tradition of supporting the local community and surrounding areas.
They offered a range of products including endowments, life assurance, pensions, and earnings protection, services Unity Mutual proudly continue to provide to their members today.
